Kevin Nakawatase Stroke Community Transformation (KNSCT)

KNSCT empowers stroke survivors and their caregivers by building community, hosting impactful summits, providing essential resources, and producing podcasts that highlight the realities of post-stroke recovery. We collaborate closely with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and stroke-focused organizations to ensure both survivors and caregivers receive the support they deserve.

As stroke rates continue to rise, especially among younger populations, the impact on individuals, caregivers, and families is intensified by underfunded recovery systems and unequal access to care.

Founded by stroke survivor Kevin Nakawatase, KNSCT bridges the gap between isolation and the life-changing tools needed for long-term healing, helping survivors and those who support them rebuild confidence, regain independence, and move forward with strength and hope.

THE INVISIBLE MADE VISIBLE: KEVIN'S STORY

Kevin Nakawatase Stroke Community Transformation

Kevin Nakawatase Stroke Community Transformation (KNSCT) is a survivor-driven guide and community designed to support stroke survivors and caregivers long after they leave the medical system. More than an organization, KNSCT serves as a trusted hub that brings together resources, education, lived experience, and connection because stroke recovery does not end at hospital discharge.

As a stroke survivor himself, Kevin Nakawatase understands firsthand that recovery is rarely linear. Every survivor’s journey is different and often extends far beyond what current healthcare systems are built to support. While hospitals, rehab centers, and health organizations have made meaningful progress in serving the estimated 101 million stroke survivors worldwide, the reality remains sobering. The World Stroke Organization projects up to 10 million stroke-related deaths annually by 2050. Rising stroke rates, especially among younger populations, underscore the urgent need for long-term, survivor-centered recovery models, sustained funding, and accessible support beyond clinical care.

Too often, survivors and caregivers are left to navigate life after stroke alone, without consistent guidance, coaching, therapy continuity, or access to emerging recovery tools. Once formal rehab ends, many face a fragmented and isolating path marked by limited resources and significant disparities in post-acute care.

Drawing on more than 25 years of experience in marketing, sales coaching, and team leadership, along with a lifelong belief in the power of community, Kevin transformed his own stroke experience in 2014 into a new mission. Through KNSCT, he is redefining what post-stroke recovery can look like by creating a space where survivors, caregivers, and families feel seen, supported, and empowered.

KNSCT functions as an evolving post-stroke guide and community ecosystem. Through curated resources, podcasts, survivor stories, educational content, events, and community summits, KNSCT connects people to practical tools, recovery technologies, coaching insights, and one another. It is a place to learn, share, and grow where recovery is not treated as a timeline but as a lifelong process.

Kevin’s vision is to build a movement that reminds survivors and caregivers they are not alone, that healing continues beyond the medical system, and that together, through shared knowledge and support, recovery can be stronger, more human, and more hopeful.

"HAVING A STROKE WAS ONCE CONSIDERED AN OLDER PERSON'S DISABILITY, BUT NOW IT AFFECTS ANYONE, OF ANY AGE"
